What is a natural birth?
A low intervention labor and delivery that allows a woman's body to do what it can naturally do: bring forth life
A natural birth is one of trust. Trust of the divine feminine, trust of the baby, and trust in your birthing guides.
Research has estimated that up to 95% of women can safely give birth without medical interventions (including but not limited to, epidural, caesarian sections, vacuum extraction, and forceps).
Many women consider natural birth empowering. A woman who is supported to labor as she instinctively wants to is a woman who will feel positive about her birth experience and future parenting skills.
What is not a natural birth?
Pregnancy and birth are not conditions or illnesses. They are natural states that have occurred since the beginning our our existence.
Birth is not something to be controlled or afraid of
Natural birth is no an OB/GYN speciality. Natural birth are more rarely seen in hospitals because doctors are trained to intervene and not go with the natural flow.
What is a doula?
The role of a doula is to support the mother and to support those who support the mother: partner, other children, family, midwife, doctor, etc.
A doula provides: explanations of medical procedures, emotional support, advice during pregnancy, exercise and physical suggestions to make pregnancy more comfortable, help with preparation of a birth plan, massage and other non-pharmacological pain relief measures, positioning suggestions during labor and birth, helps support th partner so that they can love and encourage the laboring woman, avoid unnecessary interventions, help with breast feeding preparation and beginnings, written record of the birth, and many other possibilities that vary from doula to doula.
Mystic Mothering services includes all of the above as well as services in nutritional recommendations, home preparation, newborn care, meditation, and conscious sound birthing.
What is a Conscious Sound Birth?
It is a non-invasive techniques that provides an alternative to intervention by focusing on the mind-body connection and inducing a meditative state which allows the laboring mother to cope with the pain of labor, as well as attune to there bodies needs.
With conscious sound we focus on the vibrations we are emitting into our self-system (mind, body, spirit) and the effects that these vibrations have on our self-system.
The internal vibrations are mainly affected by our thought patterns. So conscious sound begins with filling our mind with positive, empowering thoughts, so that the laboring mother's vibration is of the highest frequency.
I was taught that "music is an instrument, it can create the initial thought patterns that can change the thinking of the people." (-St. John Coltane)
In conscious sound birth, the mother and family have prepared their thought patterns prior to birth, through sound meditation, and with the coaches assistance the proper music has been selected to assist with the various stages of labor and delivery.
